Generally, when a professional recording, video or audio file is sent to us, where time coding has also been requested, we can transcribe thirty minutes of clearly-recorded speech in approximately three to four hours. Thus, it takes a minimum of six hours to transcribe a one-hour tape. Heavenly Pen charges their clients by the number of hours worked. We guarantee the highest level of workmanship, impeccability, and client satisfaction. Our service quality and delivery is optimal, and our rates are among the best quotes offered across the globe by any transcription or production company.
Factors which may increase transcription time:
Voice clarity, Speed, Accent - A speaker's voice may be hard to hear because he or she is too far from the microphone or mumbles. When someone speaks in a fast paced speed, it takes a much longer time to decipher and transcribe. If the speaker has a thick regional or foreign accent that is difficult to decipher, this will adversely affect the time it takes to transcribe a tape.
Number of people speaking- Multiple-participant recordings such as meetings and seminars take longer than interviews involving one or two people, due to voices overlapping, more material, and/or difficulty in identifying the speaker.
Recording quality- Background noise, recording volume, the type of microphone, or the brand of tape used may affect effective listening and logging.
While we pride ourselves on delivering all of our work by the requested period, turnaround times also depend on what our existing workload is at the time you place your order. But to date, all our clients have thus far received their transcripts either sooner than requested, or exactly on time.
We can deliver up to 1 hour of recorded material (standard or time coded) within a 24-hour turnaround. If you have several hours of recordings to be transcribed, its best to call ahead so that we can arrange our schedule to fit this work in.
We have equipment and programs to transcribe digital or standard audio and visual recordings in the following formats: Mp3 and Wav files, DVD and CD Recordings, Micro-Cassettes and Audio-Cassettes, and of course, VHS tapes.
